Red Sky At Morning by Kathleen Cassen Mickelson
Kathleen Cassen Mickelson is a Minnesota girl, through and through. She lives in the Twin Cities with her husband Jim, daughter Abby, two fuzzy canine companions, and is delighted that her son Shawn and his family are nearby. Kathleen attended the University of Minnesota (B.A., English) and Hamline University (M.F.A., Creative Nonfiction). She is the joint managing editor at the daily poetry journal, Every Day Poets, and she runs the blog, One Minnesota Writer. She has decided she will never, ever be old enough to retire to Florida.

When this sneaky dachshund supplemented her diet recently instead of sleeping in my office, she wreaked havoc. She ate the rear end out of a pair of men’s pajama pants, the rear end out of some men’s boxer shorts, the important bits out of two pairs of women’s underwear, and the rear end out of a pair of women’s blue jeans. She nicked four out of the five items from places other than the floor.
