Micki Blenkush lives in St. Cloud, MN with her husband, daughter, and one-eared cat. She works as a social worker supporting people with disabilities to live outside of institutions. Poetry gives her something about which to obsess other than trying to sleep and trying to not eat so many pot pies and pies in general. She writes to keep herself connected. With pen in hand she can at times eventually discern where she was or was not in relation to any experience. She demonstrates a seeming inability to shut cupboard doors or fold clothing into drawers, yet will spend hours trying to neatly package line breaks. Micki was selected as a 2017-2018 fellow in poetry for the Loft Literary Center’s Mentor Series program and was a 2015 recipient of an Emerging Artist Grant awarded by the Central MN Arts Board. Her writing has appeared in numerous journals, including: Gyroscope Review, South 85 Review, Star 82 Review, Pittsburgh Review, and is forthcoming in Midway Journal and Crab Creek Review.
