Silke Feltz, originally from a tiny village in Bavaria, moved to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula four years ago and currently is a PhD candidate in the Humanities Department at Michigan Technological University. Silke has shared her poetry at regional and national conferences. Some of her poems have been published in Drift: Narratives from the Upper Peninsula, Drunk Monkeys, and Child Owlet Literary Magazine. When she is not writing or reading poetry, Silke works on her dissertation on the rhetoric of veganism, embarks on camping adventures with her husband and dog, or can be found in the Houghton community talking about her humanitarian knitting charity, StreetKnits.
