Rachel Rear is a teacher, writer, actor, and sometime aerialist living in Brooklyn, New York.  Raised in Staten Island and New Jersey by a British mother and Brooklyn-born father who met while living in Italy, she’s always felt a little peculiar.  She earned her BA at Rutgers University, her MA at Teachers College, Columbia University, and her MFA at The New School.  After more than a decade of hesitation over sending out her work, she has now been published in the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post, Crab Creek Review, Off The Coast Poetry Journal, and Forage Poetry Journal, with forthcoming poems in Ducts Webzine.  She is working on her first book.  Follow her (please) on Twitter @RaeRear.

  1. I’m happy you’ve conquered your hesitation about sending out your writing, Rachel. What a powerful and touching picture of your Brooklyn father. Thank you!
