Simona Carini is a food and memoir writer, whose pieces have been published in various venues, both in print and online. She has recently embraced the short-short form as her preferred mode of expression. “Night Sky” is part of a collection of flash pieces inspired by personal experience in which she captures moments of deeper understanding of the world around her. She was born and grew up in Italy. As she neither drinks wine nor eats pasta, she is an enigma. When not at her desk or in the kitchen, she is outdoors hiking, paddling, riding, or rowing. Her website is a window open on some of the things she likes to do.  She lives in Northern California with her husband and two cats.
