Cheryl is an MFA Poetry student at Oklahoma State University. A born and raised Texan, she burrows beneath her blankets during the below-freezing Oklahoma days and can’t wait for the sweltering summer to arrive. One day, she’ll move somewhere warm and humid. Until then, she intends to be a professional student and stay in school for as long as possible. Or be a bum on her parents’ couch. (Sorry, Mom and Dad.) Either way, she’s not ready to adult and get a job; she’ll think about it when she can no longer support herself with whimsy and silliness.

Her work has appeared in Inkling, Stet, and Nota Bene.

The poet’s overflowing bookshelf, which was meant to prevent the books from spilling throughout her room.
