Sanguinary by C.K. Lynn
C. K. Lynn is a self-professed grammar geek, an avid reader, and a lover of books. Her husband finally bought her a Kindle in the hopes of stopping the continued encroachment of books into every corner of their home—a ploy that has been moderately successful. She and her husband met while skydiving, but they have since left that past-time in pursuit of a more dangerous task—raising a child. C.K. is an avid snowshoer and lives in a remote part of Michigan with her husband and son, two dogs, and 15 chickens. “Sanguinary” is her first published work.
Faithful companion Ellie prefers to read the comics.

Lovely and chilling juxtaposition of the blood red sunset and the blood red hands. Nicely done.

You use your words with such brevity. It’s dark, suspenseful, chilling, and I was pulled right into the story. A great piece Dave!

Thanks for your kind words but I didn’t write this. We are a zine and I am just the editor. The story won an Honorable Mention in our Fiction Contest and was written by C.K.Lynn.
